Cathie Harvey BSc BVMS (Hons) Vet MF Hom.
Dr Cathie Harvey is the Natural Vet Adelaide, servicing Adelaide and regional South Australia. Cathie graduated with honours from Murdoch Veterinary School in 1983. After over 20 years of conventional vet work on large and small animals, Cathie realised the limitations with this medicine. This inspired her on her path to discover and study other natural modalities for treating animals.
During this time she also managed her dairy, beef and cropping farm with her husband. Cathie was awarded a Nuffield Scholarship to study and observe biological farming practices all around the world. Not long after completion of her scholarship Cathie (and David) converted to organic and biodynamic farming practices.
Cathie then undertook further study in Veterinary Homeopathy through the Homeopathic Professional Teaching Group, Oxford UK and attained her qualifications with the London Faculty of Homeopathy UK. Cathie also employs natural feeding, herbal medicines and Bush Flower essences in her holistic approach to treating her patients.
Cathie’s extensive experience in herd health on organic farms positions her as one of the few consulting experts on organic herd health. Due to demand in this pioneering field she also ran organic farm animal first aid courses and is available to facilitate these workshops by request.
Cathie is passionate about helping animals return to health and wellness and also about educating owners in alternative methods for animal healthcare.
